Medanets Oy's product is a Point Of Care recording system called Medanets ABS. With it nursing staff can record, save, and browse the results of patient measurements, all this bedside using lightweight PDA.

The recording process is fluent due to efficient usage of RFID tags. Using tags, the user no longer needs to browse long menus systems to accomplish the task. Instead, tags drive the user interface directly to the correct patient's needed input page. And with automatic mode, even the measurement result is automatically inputted to the system for the nurse to be accepted.

Recording modes are: fully automatic, semi-automatic and manual. With fully automatic mode, the measurement device sends the result to the PDA and user only needs to accept the value. With semi-automatic measurement, the result is asked according to the device used.

Currenlty Medanets ABS supports for example Blood pressure and Oxygen saturation with automatic data transfer via bluetooth.

Measurement data are transferred into the information system via a wireless network, either automatically or with one entry. The information is immediately available to all system users.

Medanets ABS system allows nurses to use their time more efficiently, since they no longer need to first record information on paper and then enter it into an electronic system. Time is freed for actual nursing work. As the number of recordings decreases, the possibilities of making errors also diminish. Because less time is spent doing routine tasks, the quality of nursing goes up and the nurses' work becomes more meaningful.

Medanets ABS utilizes the hospital's existing technology. In addition to patient monitors, the Medanets ABS system's components include a Medanets ABS server that controls the system and archives data, a WLAN transmitter/receiver connected to the patient monitor, standard WLAN base stations, and a nurse's terminal consisting of a PDA or laptop computer equipped with a RFID reader. RFID sensors are used to identify patient and measurement data. Alternatively, the system also supports the use of bar codes. Also small bluetooth based devices are supported.

Medanets ABS also supports EWSS functionality with PDA.
